01Scope
The Lighthouse (“The Lighthouse,” “we,” “us”) is a builder community and learning platform operated from Houston, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you visit lighthouserobotics.xyz, use Lighthouse Learn, or interact with pages and services we operate.
Our Discord server is hosted by Discord Inc. Your activity there is also governed by Discord’s own terms and privacy policy.
02What we collect
Discord sign-in. When you sign in to Lighthouse Learn with Discord, we receive the account details you authorize through Discord’s OAuth flow: your Discord user ID, username and display name, avatar, and email address.
Learning activity. Lesson and quiz progress, answers, streaks, review scheduling, timestamps, and — if you joined through one — the invite or campaign code associated with your sign-up.
Automatic data. When you visit the site, our infrastructure processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and request logs used for security and performance.
Advertising data. We use the X pixel on this site, which collects cookie identifiers and page events (such as visits and sign-ups) as described in section 04.
Messages you send us. If you email us or contact us through Discord, we keep the correspondence.
03How we use it
To run Lighthouse Learn: save your progress, schedule reviews, verify content gates, and grant community roles tied to your Discord account.
To operate, secure, and improve the site and community, and to prevent abuse.
To measure our advertising and understand which campaigns bring people here, including through invite-code attribution.
To build advertising audiences on X, including retargeting visitors and reaching similar audiences, as described in sections 04 and 05.
To respond when you contact us and to share service or community updates.
We do not sell your personal information.
04Cookies & tracking
Essential cookies. Lighthouse Learn uses authentication cookies and similar storage (via our provider Supabase) to keep you signed in. The site can’t function without these.
The X pixel. We use the X pixel and X’s conversion tracking and custom audience tools, provided by X Corp. The pixel sets cookies and collects identifiers and page events so we can measure whether our ads on X lead to visits and sign-ups, show ads to people who have visited this site (retargeting), and reach audiences similar to our community. Data collected by the pixel is shared with X Corp and handled under X’s own privacy policy.
Infrastructure cookies. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies strictly necessary for security and bot protection.
We do not run third-party ad networks on this site beyond the X tools described above.
05Your choices & opt-outs
You can opt out of interest-based advertising connected to this site in several ways:
On X. Turn off personalized ads in your X account: Settings and privacy › Privacy and safety › Ads preferences, then uncheck Personalized ads. This is X’s opt-out mechanism for interest-based advertising, including audiences built from pixel data.
In your browser. Block or clear third-party cookies in your browser settings. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
Email. Any non-essential email we send includes a way to opt out, or you can just tell us.
Opting out limits ad personalization; you may still see non-personalized ads, and essential cookies are still needed for sign-in.
06How we share
We share information only with the service providers that make the site work, and as required by law:
Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and security.
Supabase — database and authentication for Lighthouse Learn.
Discord — sign-in (OAuth) and our community server.
X Corp — advertising measurement, retargeting, and audience tools, via the X pixel.
Google — email and productivity tools we use to run The Lighthouse.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Lighthouse or others, or as part of a business transfer — and we’d tell you if that last one ever happens.
07Retention
We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the service, then for a reasonable period for backups, security, and legal compliance. If you ask us to delete your data, we’ll remove it from our active systems as described in section 08.
08Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Email us at keeper@lighthouserobotics.xyz from an address you can verify, or message us from your Discord account so we can confirm it’s you. We honor reasonable requests from everyone, and we comply with the rights granted by the privacy laws that apply to you based on where you live (for example in Texas, California, the EEA, or the UK).
09Children
The Lighthouse is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet Discord’s minimum age (13 in most regions) to sign in. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls through the providers listed above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we take it seriously.
11International visitors
The Lighthouse operates from the United States, and the providers we use process data in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those in your region.
12Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date. For material changes we’ll also give notice on the site or in our Discord.
